A Day for the Ronald McDonald House - Great Success

Today Sharkeys Cuts for Kids pledged all proceeds from all kids haircuts, dads haircuts and minicures to the Ronald McDonald House ... and it was a huge success. Thanks to the great marketing by all our staff and friends and the tremendous help from 99.1 Hits FM, we raised $865 and will donate an additional $900 through Hits FM for a total of $1765!!!!!

Thanks to everyone for all the help. Our stylists Laura and Kayla worked tirelessly today, even working through their lunch breaks to do as many cuts as possible. Special thanks to Laura for holding down the fort alone this morning while we were at the Janeway! I would like to especially thank our stylist Amanda and Kayleigh for not only donating their time to the Janeway this morning, but they also then donated the remainder of their day working at the salon to help the cause. Amanda even stayed late today to do an after hours cut to bump up the donation total! It was a great team building experience and everyone should be very proud of what you did.

I also would like to thank Pizza Delight for donating a couple pizzas to fuel our staff today!

Finally thanks to all our awesome customers that came in to help us donate today!

March Visit to the Janeway - Even more Haircuts!

Today we did our third visit to the Janeway and we did even more haircuts than last time! The kids had a great time and so did we. Thanks to our stylist Amanda and to Kayleigh for doing nails and tattoos.

A Day to Support the Ronald McDonald House at Sharkey's

February 24, 2011 - Our second visit to the Janeway

Our second visit proved to be just as much fun as our first. The kids really enjoyed the haircuts from our stylist Nancy, the mini-cures from our Glamour Girl Kayla and I (Jeff), did a few tattoos. Our coloring contest was a big hit again this time and we hope to have a surprise partner for our next visit!

January 27th, 2011 - Sharkeys First Visit to the Janeway

Each month, Sharkeys Cuts for Kids will be on location at the Janeway Children's Hospital in support of ChildLife. Our goal is to bring smiles to kids that for health reasons are in the hospital for extended periods of time and miss out on things that many take for granted. During these visits Sharkeys Cuts for Kids will provide haircuts, mini-cures and temporary tattoos for the kids, as well as award prizes for the Sharkeys coloring contest.
