We were so happy this week to have 5 year old Alicia drop by the salon to donate her ponytail to Locks of Love. This is a our first every hair donation, and Alicia was such an amazing girl to want to do this!
Have a look at these pics of her long locks that we started with ...
And then came the big moment ...
Katie snips off the ponytail!
Alicia was still smiling!
Thanks to Katie for doing the cut
We were so happy to give Alicia a new cut and style on us!
Thanks so much to Alicia for choosing to come to Sharkeys to do such a generous gesture ... we have so many amazing kids that come through our doors, and Alicia is definitely one of them!
For more information about Locks of Love, please feel free to contact Sharkeys at 722-CUTS (2887) or drop by the salon at 140 Stavanger Drive.

Sharkeys Visit #4 to the Janeway Children's Hospital
Today we did our fourth visit to the Janeway and we are very happy to say that there were not a lot of kids that needed haircuts, as many of the rooms were empty. Don't get me wrong, we absolutely love going, but we love it when the girls from Childlife tell us there are not many kids in the hospital!
Thanks to our stylist Laura for doing the cuts and to stylist Kayleigh for doing nails and tattoos. Even with a small group in the hospital, we had a pretty high participation rate this month.
For more information about our work, please contact us at our salon at 140 Stavanger Dr in St. John's, by phone (709) 722-2887, or by email.
Here are a few pics of our visit and the amazing kids!
Brianna wasn't feeling so great, but we are so glad she decided to get a cut.
Brianna even stayed to get her nails done.
Daneil was such a great sport and had a wonderful time getting a haircut with his dad!
Daniel was so excited about his fire truck tattoo
Jagger couldn't come to us for a tattoo, so we went to him.
While we were in Jagger's room, his sister Jordis decided to drop by our temporary salon for a minicure and a tattoo from Laura.
Jordis was so happy with her nails ... I got the feeling from her dad that she has done this before :)
Coden is one of the cutest little boys we have ever met, he had some of his curls cut, but Laura was sure to leave a bunch.
Coden wanted not one, but two tattoos!
He also had hugs for everyone!
Nicholas also could not come to us, so we dropped by his room and gave him a tattoo.
Next up was our coloring contest, thanks to McDonalds for providing free smoothies to all our participants!
Jagger was one of our coloring contest winners
Nicholas was another of our coloring contest winners.
Thanks again to the great staff at Child Life at the Janeway for having us again. If you would like to know more about us and what we do, please contact us at our salon at 140 Stavanger Dr in St. John's, by phone (709) 722-2887, or by email.
