On November 3rd we did our eighth visit to the Janeway!

Amanda and I were very excited this visit to see two familiar faces feeling so much better! Keegan and Danika we are so proud of you!

Janeway Movie Day

During our last visit to the Janeway Children's Hospital, instead of awarding an individual prize for the Sharkey's Cuts for Kids coloring contest, the kids received a gift card for Boston Pizza to be used for their next movie day. Thanks to Paula for the pictures!

Sharkey's Visit #7 to the Janeway Children's Hospital

On September 14th we did our seventh visit to the Janeway and it was a ton of fun!

On our very first visit to the Janeway in January we gave Brady a haircut, this time mom wanted him to have a really cool cut!

I wonder what his nan is gonna think when she sees his blue mohawk!

Who would have thought both boys today would get blue mohawks! Add in Brody's tattoo and all he needs is a motorcycle!

Sharkey's Donates $750 to Big Brothers Big Sisters

At the Regatta this year, Sharkey's Cuts for Kids set up for the entire day providing temporary hair color, tattoos and minicures, all in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Newfoundland. In the end, it was all worth it, and despite the weather being a bit cold to start ... we raised a total of $750!

Paradise Sunsplash

It has been a busy summer and we are just getting to update our blog with all the activities we took part in this summer. On July 30th, Sharkey's Cuts for Kids was at Paradise Sunsplash providing temporary hair color, minicures and temporary tattoos.

Nominations for Sharkey's Community Helpers

As you can see from our blog, Sharkey's loves to help bring smiles to kids faces through our volunteer work.

Sharkey's would like to recognize kids in our communities that are helping out in their own way. Please nominate someone you know in your community age 15 and under who does their part to help out. It can be any gesture, big or small that shows the Sharkey's spirit of helping others.

Shea Height's Folk Festival

Canada Day in Pouch Cove

Sharkeys owner Jennifer and a few of the Glamour Girls (Jenna, Emily and Lauren) decided to spend Canada Day in Pouch Cove this year! While there, the girls provided free temporary tattoos, mini-cures and hair color. As you can see from the pictures below, the kids had a great time.

Sharkeys at Beachy Cove Elementary

We were really excited to help out at Beachy Cove Elementary's sports day this year ... but the weather just didn't co-operate! Sharkeys wanted to be on hand to provide temporary tattoos for all the kids while they enjoyed their annual sports day. Hopefully we are able to make up for it in September.

However, even though the weather didn't co-operate, we still wanted to offer something to the kids of Beachy Cove, so we donated free haircut certificates to each class in the school.

In addition to Beachy Cove Elementary, Sharkeys also donated free haircuts to the following schools:

Virginia Park Elementary
