Sharkey's Cuts for Kids Visit #14 to Janeway Children's Hospital
On Thursday October 25th, we had our 14th visit to the Janeway Children's Hospital to provide complimentary haircuts, minicures and tattoos for the great kids that are at the Janeway for an extended period of time and are unable to come to us. We had a great time as always, and so did the kids!

Sharkey's Cuts for Kids Visit #13 to Janeway Children's Hospital
On Thursday August 2nd, we had our 13th visit to the Janeway Children's Hospital to provide complimentary haircuts, minicures and tattoos for the great kids that are at the Janeway for an extended period of time and are unable to come to us. We had a great time as always, and so did the kids!

Sharkey's Cuts for Kids Visit #12 to Janeway Children's Hospital
On Thursday June 21st, we had our 12th visit to the Janeway Children’s Hospital to provide complimentary haircuts, minicures and tattoos for the great kids that are at the Janeway for an extended period of time and are unable to come to us. Every time we visit, the parents tell us how much it means to them that our visits give the kids something fun to look forward to and how great it is to break up their day. We are so fortunate and privileged to get to do what we do, we meet so many amazing kids every time we visit, and we always get to see them smile!
The great folks at Tim Hortons provided us with some gift bags for the kids as well as pre-loaded Tim Cards to get some Timbits!

Sharkey's Cuts for Kids Helps Send Kids to Camp
Sharkey's was super excited to team up with Tim Hortons this year for their annual "Camp Day" on
Wednesday, June 6th. On "Camp Day" the
proceeds from all kid's haircuts, dad's haircuts and mini-cures were in
support of this great cause!
The Tim
Horton Children's Foundation provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for
children to experience everything camp has to offer - an expense their families
could not normally afford. On Wednesday, June 6th, Sharkey's was very proud to contribute toward sending even more kids to a Tim Horton Children's Foundation
camp! Thanks to all our customers that helped make this possible.

Sharkey's Cuts for Kids Supports Tim Hortons Camp Day

Sharkey's Visit #11 to the Janeway Children's Hospital
Today we had our 11th visit to the Janeway Children’s Hospital to provide complimentary haircuts, minicures and tattoos for the great kids that are at the Janeway for an extended period of time and are unable to come to us. Every time we visit, the parents tell us how much it means to them that our visits give the kids something fun to look forward to and how great it is to break up their day. We are so fortunate and privileged to get to do what we do, we meet so many amazing kids every time we visit, and we always get to see them smile!
This week was special for a couple reasons, first of all it is National Volunteer Week in Canada; and second we have two new partners this week that are going to stick around with us.
The great folks at Tim Hortons are now sponsoring our coloring contest, today all the kids that participated received miniature Sidney Crosby hockey sticks as well as pre-loaded Tim Cards to get some Timbits!
Also, the professional artists of Wandering Brush visited with us today and did some amazing face painting as well as some pretty cool body art. The pictures this week are a must see.

Sharkey's and Wandering Brush support the Janeway Children's Foundation

Sharkey's Congratulates Jennifer Mong, 2012 National Spelling Bee Champion!
Sharkey's paid a visit to MacDonald Drive Junior High this week to congratulate 12 year old Jennifer Mong of St. John's for winning the Postmedia Canspell National Spelling Bee Championship!
Sharkey's Cuts for Kids is very proud of Jennifer and presented her with a Sharkey's gift basket as well as a gift certificate for her to drop in before she heads off to Washington D.C at the end of May for the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Best of luck to Jennifer from all your friends at Sharkey's!

Sharkey's Visit #10 to the Janeway Children's Hospital
Today we had our 10th visit to the Janeway Children’s Hospital to provide complimentary haircuts, minicures and tattoos for the great kids that are at the Janeway for an extended period of time and are unable to come to us. We had a great visit today and for the first time captured a couple of videos from our visit:

To make our day even better, we had a visit at the salon today from Danika, an amazing little girl that we met at the Janeway during our very first visit and many times after … it meant a lot to us to see her make it to our salon today on her birthday!
Of course we did take a couple of pictures of a couple of the many cuts we did today.
